Spud is not just a good South African book.
It a brilliant Novel!
Without a doubt the funniest novel I have ever read. John van de Ruit’s dry humour is brilliant, and hilarious.
His comedic timing is exceptional.

The first book follows John ‘Spud’ Milton first year at a boys only private school. He soon teams up with his dorm mates, who become known as ‘The Crazy Eight’, and embarks on some extremely mad antics.

He is also “blessed” with the most Insane family, which includes his senile old grandmother: “Wombat”.
No one will be able to read this book without laughing out loud every few minutes :-)
